Principal's Welcome

The Mariposa Elementary School Staff welcomes you to the 2012-2013 school year.

On August 22 at 8:20 a.m., the first bell will mark the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. The staff has undertaken the important work of transitioning Mariposa Elementary School to a K-8 school. We have worked diligently to plan and articulate a program that will prepare our students to be successful as learners and as members of the community.

This year will be unique in that it will be the first year of the new K-8 configuration for MES. We have the unique opportunity to maintain MES's time-honored traditions while beginning new ones. A major focus for 2012-2013 will be for us to build the foundation for MES's success for many years to come. Students, parents, and staff will have the opportunity to build a legacy this year, perhaps more than any other. This will be an exciting and memorable year.

We look forward to seeing you on the first day of school.

Best wishes for a great year,

Jared Pierce

MES Principal

Permissive Absent Days

The school and teacher MUST be notified prior to a missed school day due to religious, personal, or heritage awareness.  A permissive absence is permitted when there is prior knowledge of the absence, work is given to the student, and that work is returned completed the next day back to school.  Mariposa Elementary School is excited to celebrate and acknowledge these important days with our students and their families.
